History of The Children's Museum of the Brazos Valley Storytelling Guild

In 2003, the Children’s Museum of the Brazos Valley started a storytelling guild at the suggestion of professional storytellers Doc Moore and Tim Tingle. From 2003 to 2005, our president was Sherron Garrison, who was the museum’s Education and Program Director at that time. For the first two years, our vice president was Debbie Segler, and our secretary was Nancy Self. The 2005-2006 officers started in June 2005, and 2006-2007 officers started in June 2006. For 2005, our officers were: Nancy Self (President), Kendra Perkins (Vice-President), Margie Debney (Treasurer), Catherine Ezzell (Secretary), Bobbee and Jim Pennington (Newsletter Editors), Sherron Garrison (Immediate Past President), and Tim Tingle and Doc Moore (Advisors). From June to November 2006, Rebekah Cooper was our Treasurer. When Rebekah moved to continue her education, Devan O’Neal assumed her post. The officers for 2006-2007 are Kendra Perkins (President), Pat Wiese (Vice-President), Catherine Ezzell (Secretary), Devan O’Neal (Treasurer), Bobbee and Jim Pennington (Newsletter Editors), and Nancy Self (Immediate Past President).
